Double-Knitting Level 2: New Adventures in Double-Knitting — now with more colors!

 Sunday, May 20, 1:00 – 5:00

Objective: To take your existing knowledge of double-knitting techniques and push its limits.

Description: This workshop will get you comfortable with some of the most useful and interesting multi-color “extreme” double-knitting techniques that I have developed. In a single swatch, you’ll learn three-color double-knitting and three-color cables. You’ll also learn how to integrate multiple colors into a really clean double-knit edge and work a really interesting decorative bind-off.

Requirements: 3 contrasting colors of plain yarn in the sport to DK weight range and a pair of straight or circular needles in the proper size. Previous double-knitting experience required — you should either have taken Alasdair’s Introduction to Double-Knitting workshop or have done some other double-knitting colorwork on your own or in another workshop.

Homework: If you’re not already familiar with my cast-on, please learn it before the workshop so we can move right into new techniques. You can find a video tutorial on Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQpsC1FKGrU.  Workshop Fee $75

The Fiber Festival of New England

Springfield, MA at the home of the BIG E ~ Workshops, Fleece Sale, Fashion Show (Sat. 3:00 pm) ~ Demonstrations, zillions (almost) of vendors…

On Saturday, Nov. 5 many of our friends rode the   Woolpack Bus to Springfield.

There was  lots of knitting time on the road, lots of shopping time, and plenty of new projects for the ride home.

I would have taken pictures of the animals, the fashion show and the great selection of fibers for spinning, weaving and felting but I was too busy shopping.  Join us next year?

Knit with Love – (don’t we all?)  A very special opportunity to meet the author and  support Warm Up America.  On   Tuesday, October 25th  we hosted Lisa Bogart, author of Knit with Love.   We had a great evening and turned in 94 “patches” (the most every collected at one of her events.  We are continuing to collect “Patches” and will have an assembly party in March.  Free needles and patterns are still available at the shop, so stop by.
